Max Reinhart had two goals and two assists Friday as the Kootenay Ice defeated the Regina Pats 5-2 in the Western Hockey League.
Dylen McKinlay added a goal and an assist for the Ice (3-0-1), while Elgin Pearce and Adam Rossignol also scored. Joey Leach had two assists.
Mackenzie Skapski made 26 saves for the win.
Elsewhere in the WHL it was: Swift Current 5, Brandon 4 (SO); Medicine Hat 5, Edmonton 3; Lethbridge 6, Calgary 5; Kamloops 6, Vancouver 2; Moose Jaw 6, Prince Albert 5 (SO); Saskatoon 4, Red Deer 2; Tri-City 4, Portland 1; and Victoria 5, Prince George 4 (SO).
At Cranbrook, B.C., Brandon Underwood and Lane Scheidl had the goals for Regina (3-1-0), which got 22 saves from Adam Beukeboom. Jordan Weal had two assists.
Tied 2-2 in the second, the Ice took the lead for the first time when Reinhart's shot from the top of circle was deflected home by McKinlay at 14:48 on the power play.
Pearce scored on a backhand to make it 4-2 at 17:14 of the third before Reinhart added his second of the night into an empty at 19:15.
Broncos 5, Wheat Kings 4 (SO)
At Brandon, Man., Brad Hoban scored the only goal of the shootout to lift Swift Current (1-2-1) over the Wheat Kings (2-1-1).
