The Sarnia Sting will be without Alex Galchenyuk for an indefinite period of time.
The Sarnia Observer reports that the young centre - a projected Top 10 pick for the 2012 NHL draft - could be sidelined until at least mid-November with a knee injury.
"We're keeping our fingers crossed that it might only be a month, or a month-and-a-half," Sting coach and general manager Jacques Beaulieu told the Observer over the weekend. "He's not doing anything for the next two weeks - no exercise an no walking on it."
Galchenyuk, ranked fifth in Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie's pre-season draft rankings and fourth in TSN Scout Craig Button's monthly rankings, injured the knee after getting caught a rut in the ice in a preseason game against the Windsor Spitfires.
