Despite being a little sore, Buck Pierce's rib injury is feeling better and he will start against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Friday.
Pierce missed last week's game to rest his sore ribs, the latest in a number of injuries for the veteran Blue Bombers' quarterback.
In 12 games this season, Pierce has thrown for 2,680 yards with 12 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in leading the Blue Bombers to a record of 8-5. The Bombers are tied with the Montreal Alouettes for first place in the East Division.
In the kicking department, newly-acquired Jamie Boreham and Mike Renaud had a punting contest at practice on Wednesday and Boreham was slightly better. He is expected to start on Friday but head coach Paul Lapolice would not confirm the decision.
