{allcanada} CFL doles out eight suspensions for infractions from Week 14

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - The Canadian Football League has fined eight players undisclosed amounts of money for infractions committed in Week 14.

The fines were announced Wednesday.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats offensive lineman Belton Johnson was fined for what the CFL called a leg whip on an opposing player in Saturday's win over the Toronto Argonauts.

Toronto defensive lineman Ricky Foley was ejected for an illegal hit in the same game and also fined.

Edmonton Eskimo running back Jerome Messam was fined for punching an opponent during Friday's loss to the BC Lions, which led to his ejection from the game.

Lions defensive lineman Khalif Mitchell was fined for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Messam.

In addition, four other Lions players -- Korey Banks, Solomon Elimimian, Tad Kornegay and Dante Marsh -- were fined for their roles in a fourth-quarter altercation during the game.

Messam scuffled with Banks and landed a blow on a BC player's helmet during the scrum.
