The woman accused of burglarizing Alex Trebek's hotel room last week – in an incident that left the Jeopardy host injured – could face 25 years to life in prison under California's "three strikes and you're out" law.

"I'm facing a life sentence. I'm never going to see life again outside if I'm found guilty," a choked-up Lucinda Moyers, 56, told the San Francisco Chronicle in an interview at the county jail.

Moyers has two prior burglary convictions on her record, from 1990 and 1991, according to the district attorney's office. Defendants with two previous violent or serious felonies can be sentenced to 25 years to life if convicted of a third.

Prosecutors allege that the burglary of Trebek's hotel room on July 26 constituted a violent crime. "We are alleging that the individual entered the room to commit the burglary while it was occupied. By statute, it is a serious, violent felony," says DA spokeswoman spokeswoman Erica Terry Derryck.

Moyers pleaded not guilty at her arraignment Monday.

Trebek, 71, ruptured his Achilles tendon during the incident, reportedly after chasing the burglar from his room.
