The final round of the RBC Canadian Open is underway from the Shaugnessy Golf and Country Club, where American Bo Van Pelt has opened up a four-stroke lead over Canada's Adam Hadwin.
Van Pelt (-6) and Hadwin (-2) both opened their round shooting 1-over, but Van Pelt's birdies on the fourth and seventh holes and Hadwin's bogey on the sixth, extended the lead by four strokes.
Van Pelt had four birdies over his last five holes on Saturday to shoot five-under 65 and finish the day at 5-under. 23-year-old Hadwin shot a 2-under par 68 in the third round and was 4 under entering the final round. A win would give the Abbotsford, B.C., native a US$918,000 pay cheque, plus a two-year PGA Tour exemption.
Matt McQuillan (+4) of Kingston, Ont., is 1-under through 14, while David Hearn (+4) of Brantford, Ont., is plus 2 through 13 holes.
Dustin Risdon (+11) of Strathmore, Alta., is 1-over through the front nine; while Brad Fritsch (+13) of Manotick, Ont., is plus 2 through nine holes.
