VANCOUVER -- The B.C. Lions say Kamau Peterson will undergo testing by the CFL club but won't divulge whether the free-agent receiver has agreed to a contract.

"Kamau is currently in Kamloops and will be tested by our medical staff both on and off the field over the next day or so to determine his overall physical condition," Lions head coach/GM Wally Buono said in a statement. "If he is cleared by our staff to participate then we will take the next step in the process."

Peterson, 32, arrived at the Lions' training camp Sunday and various reports said he had agreed to terms on a contract with B.C. pending a physical.

Peterson, an 11-year CFL veteran, was released in the off-season by the Edmonton Eskimos after four seasons. Peterson missed 11 games last year due to a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Peterson has registered 522 catches for 6,741 yards and 28 TDs over his CFL career and was named the league's top Canadian in 2008.
