Bell Media has deduced that two CTV networks are better than one.
It was announced Monday by Bell Media that its A channels will be renamed CTV Two this fall.
The move coincides with the relaunching of the CTV Two channels in high definition.
For the past few years the A channels essentially have functioned as a "backup CTV" anyway, as many shows that couldn't quite squeeze their way onto the CTV schedule had another place to land.
"As we stated to the CRTC, we are committed to the viability of the A stations," Bell Media president Kevin Crull said in a statement.
"Along with our investment in HD and our commitment to local programming, today's announcement signifies a new beginning for this network."

Details of the fall schedules for both CTV and CTV Two will be revealed at the Bell Media upfront presentation in Toronto on Thursday.
