{allcanada} WHL: FESER'S LATE WINNER LIFTS AMERICANS OVER BLAZERS

Centre Justin Feser scored with 55.4 seconds left in the third period to break a 4-4 tie and give the Tri-City Americans a 5-4 Western Hockey League victory over the Kamloops Blazers on Tuesday night.

Zach Yuen, with two, Brendan Shinnimin and Tyler Schmidt also scored for the Americans (40-21-4).

Dylan Willick, Dalibor Bortnak, Thomas Frazee and Bronson Maschmeyer replied for Kamloops (29-35-4).

Tri-City goaltender Drew Owsley stopped 36 shots, while Jeff Bosch of the Blazers turned aside 37.

Elsewhere in the WHL it was: Kootenay 5 Moose Jaw 1; Medicine Hat 6 Calgary 2; Red Deer 7 Prince George 0 and Spokane 4 Everett 2.

Ice 5 Warriors 1

At Cranbrook, B.C., captain Brayden McNabb, Cody Eakin and Matt Fraser all had a goal and two assists as Kootenay downed Moose Jaw.

Elgin Pearce and Max Reinhart also scored for the Ice (42-21-4).

Spencer Edwards opened scoring for the Warriors (36-25-5) just 3:52 into the game.

Tigers 6 Hitmen 2

At Medicine Hat, Alta., Linden Vey scored twice as the Tigers extended their points streak to nine games with a win over Calgary.

Curtis Valk, Emerson Etem, Kellan Tochkin and Reid Petryk also scored for Medicine Hat (42-17-8). Vey, the WHL's leading scorer, extended his points streak to 13 games with the goals.

Justin Kirsch and Kris Foucault had goals for Calgary (19-42-5).

Rebels 7 Cougars 0

At Prince George, B.C., Byron Froese scored four times as Red Deer blasted the Cougars.

Darcy Kuemper stopped all 25 shots he faced as the Rebels (43-16-7) shut down Prince George. Top prospect Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored and added three assists, while John Persson and Andrej Kudrna both had a goal and set up two others.

Ty Rimmer started in net for Prince George (29-33-4) and made 17 saves on 22 shots in 32:33 of work. He was replaced by James Priestner turned aside 12 of 14 shots.

Chiefs 4 Silvertips 2

At Spokane, Wash., Anthony Bardaro scored twice as the Chiefs flew past Everett.

Steven Kuhn had a goal and an assist for Spokane (42-17-6), while Brenden Kichton also found the back of the net.

Tyler Maxwell and Manraj Hayer replied for the Silvertips (27-28-11).
