Peter Sakaris scored with under three minutes to play as the Shawinigan Cataractes defeated the Chicoutimi Sagueneens 3-2 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play Sunday.
Jean-Francois Plante opened the scoring for Shawinigan at 2:38 of the second period but Andrew O'Brien tied it for the Sagueneens about four minutes later with his first of the season.
Chicoutimi (27-25-11) went ahead with a power-play goal at 13:20 of the second on Guillaume Asselin's 34th of the year.
However, Shawinigan's Gabriel Lemieux evened the score with a power-play goal just two minutes later, setting the stage for Sakaris' tiebreaker in the third.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Val-d'Or 3, Montreal 2 (SO); and Quebec 5, Drummondville 2.
At Shawinigan, Que., Christopher Gibson was impressive in net for Chicoutimi, stopping 40 of 43 shots in the loss.
Gabriel Girard only need 23 saves for Shawinigan (38-22-3).

Foreurs 3, Juniors 2 (SO)
At Val-d'Or, Que., Brett Hester scored the deciding goal in a shootout and added one in regulation as the Foreurs topped Montreal.
Jacob Gervais-Chouinard made 34 saves while Cedrick Henley also scored for Val-d'Or (23-32-8).
Viktor Hertzberg and Trevor Parkes counted for the Juniors (43-11-9).

At Drummondville, Que., Jonathan Audy-Marchessault scored his 37th and 38th goals of the season to lead Quebec over the Voltigeurs.
Tomas Filippi, Alexandre Grenier and Frederick Roy also scored for the Remparts (44-15-4).
Andre Bouvet-Morrissette and Maxime Villemaire tallied for Drummondville (42-15-7).
