Brayden Schenn came up big in a battle between the top two teams in the Western Hockey League.
Schenn had two goals and an assist Tuesday as the Saskatoon Blades beat Red Deer 7-5, ending the Rebels' 11-game winning streak.
Josh Nicholls and Jake Trask each had a goal and an assist for WHL-leading Saskatoon (39-10-2), which has won six straight. Darian Dziurzynski, Dalton Thrower and Chris Collins also scored.
Elsewhere in the WHL it was: Kootenay 8 Calgary 0; Vancouver 3 Medicine Hat 2; and Edmonton 4 Seattle 2.
At Saskatoon, Andrej Kudrna, Tyson Ness, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Colin Archer and Daulton Siwak replied for Red Deer (35-13-5), which trails Saskatoon by five points in the Eastern Conference standings.
Steven Stanford made 18 saves for Saskatoon while Darcy Kuemper stopped 30 shots for Red Deer.

At Cranbrook, B.C., Cody Eakin had two goals and three assists to lead Kootenay over Calgary.
Brayden McNabb, Matt Fraser, Jesse Ismond, Joe Antilla, Erik Benoit and John Niebrandt had the other goals for the Ice (33-16-3). Goaltenders Nathan Lieuwen and Brett Teskey combined to stop 32 shots.
Brandon Glover and Mike Snider combined to make 27 saves for Calgary (15-34-3).

Mitch Elliot and Brendan Rouse scored for Seattle (18-25-9), losers of nine straight.
