Edmonton Oilers winger Zack Stortini cleared waivers on Wednesday, which gives the team the option of sending him to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.
Stortini, 25, has four assists in 32 games this season with Edmonton. The native of Elliot Lake, Ontario has not played regularly in the AHL since the 2006-07 season, when he played 47 games for the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Stortini was a third-round pick of the Oilers in the 2003 draft. He has 14 goals and 27 assists in 256 NHL games.
