OTTAWA -- Carolina Morace has informed the Canadian Soccer Association she intends to step down as head coach of the national women's team after this summer's World Cup in Germany.
A CSA spokesman confirms Morace has sent a letter to the organization outlining her plans but offered no further comment.
In a brief statement, the CSA says it will "continue to support the women's national team program to ensure its best possible opportunity for success at the FIFA Women's World Cup Germany 2011 and beyond."
She succeeded coach Even Pellerud, who stepped down after leading Canada to the quarter-finals of the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
The World Cup is set for June 26 to July 17.
