Jonathan Huberdeau excelled on special teams as the Saint John Sea Dogs extended their points streak on Friday night.
Huberdeau scored on the power play and short handed to lead the Sea Dogs past their provincial rivals, the Moncton Wildcats, for a 4-3 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League victory.
Saint John has now earned at least a point in its last 11 games with 10 wins and a 3-2 overtime loss to the Drummondville Voltigeurs on Jan. 15.
Huberdeau has been a key cog in the Sea Dogs' league-leading offence, scoring 29 goals and 42 assists, third best in the QMJHL.
Zack Phillips, the fourth-highest scorer with two assists less than Huberdeau, had a goal and an assist for Saint John on Friday.
The top-ranked Sea Dogs now have the longest active points streak in the league, as the Quebec Remparts ended the Acadie-Bathurst Titan's 11-game run.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Quebec 4 Acadie-Bathurst 1; Halifax 2 Baie-Comeau 1; Lewiston 5 Rimouski 4; Chicoutimi 5 Victoriaville 2 and Val-d'Or 2 Rouyn-Noranda 1.
At Moncton, Nathan Beaulieu also had a power-play goal for Saint John (39-5-3).
Simon Jodoin, Marek Hrivik and Ted Stephens replied for the Wildcats (25-18-6).

At Quebec City, Tomas Filippi scored twice and added an assist as the Remparts derailed Acadie-Bathurst's winning streak in a rough game.
Mikael Tam and Jonathan Audy-Marchessault both had a goal and set up one other for Quebec (36-10-3).
Yoan Pinette had the only goal for the Titan (33-15-1) as both teams combined for a total of 60 minutes in penalties.

At Halifax, Carl Gelinas put the game away with 7:08 left in the third as the Mooseheads edged Baie-Comeau.
Travis Randell had a power-play goal for Halifax (15-30-3).
Alexandre Durette was the lone scorer for the Drakkar (7-35-9).

Maineiacs 5 Oceanic 4
At Lewiston, Maine, the Maineiacs reeled off three unanswered goals in the third period to slip past Rimouski.
Stefan Fournier, Michael Chaput and Matthew Bissonnette's goals in the final period lifted Lewiston (32-16-2) to victory. Etienne Brodeur's 40th goal of the season was short handed, while Jess Tanguy also scored.
Petr Straka had a short-handed goal for the Oceanic (24-25-2), while Alexandre Mallet, Felix Lefrancois and Alex Emond also found the back of the net.

At Victoriaville, Que., Chicoutimi scored five-straight goals in the first and second period to drop the Tigres.
Guillaume Asselin, Jonathan Bonneau, Alexandre Lavoie, Charles Hudon and Emrik Guillemette supplied the offence for the Sagueneens (17-21-10).
Frederic Tanguay and Yanni Gourde scored the first and last goals of the game for Victoriaville (26-19-4).

At Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Marc-Alain Begin scored the game-winning goal at the midway point of the third period as Val-d'Or topped the Huskies.
Jonathan Hazen's power-play goal tied the game up for the Foreurs (17-26-5) at the 13:51 mark of the second period.
Jean-Francois Grenier C. was the lone scorer for Rouyn-Noranda (8-37-4).
