MOSCOW -- Canadian Christine Nesbitt won the women's 1,500-metre speedskating World Cup on Saturday to remain unbeaten at the distance this season.
The 25-year-old from London, Ont., who won her maiden sprint world championship title last Sunday, covered the Krylatskoye Ice Stadium oval in one minute 56.80 seconds for her fourth straight World Cup victory at the distance.
Jan Smeekens of the Netherlands won his first World Cup race of the season by edging Akio Ota and Tucker Fredricks in the men's 500.
In the women's 500, world record-holder Jenny Wolf of Germany earned her 45th World Cup win and seventh of this season in the distance.
