Robert Steeves made some noise for the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Friday night.
The rookie goaltender made 28 saves for his first Quebec Major Junior Hockey League shutout as the Titan dismantled the P.E.I. Rocket 8-0.
Steeves has been solid in his first season of major junior hockey, earning five wins with a 1.42 goals-against average and a .955 saves percentage in just eight games of work.
The 17-year-old native of Moncton, N.B. has been the back-up goaltender to veteran Olivier Roy all season. But with Roy in his final season of junior, Steeves is poised to take over the starter's role in 2011.
Jonathan Lessard scored three times, all on the power play, to lead Acadie-Bathurst's potent offence.
Evan Mosher stopped 10-of-13 shots in the first period for P.E.I. before being replaced by Maxime Lagace. Lagace made 19 saves on 24 shots.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Gatineau 3 Moncton 2 (OT); Saint John 6 Lewiston 2; Victoriaville 5 Quebec 2; Montreal 4 Shawinigan 1; Cape Breton 5 Baie-Comeau 4 (SO); Chicoutimi 5 Rimouski 3; Drummondville 4 Rouyn-Noranda 1 and Halifax 4 Val-d'Or 3 (SO).
At Bathurst, N.B., Vincent Arseneau had a goal and set up three others for the Titan (19-11-0), while Christophe Losier, Bryce Milson and Sebastien Trudeau all scored and had an assist. Sebastien Payette added a single.
The Rocket (14-13-2) have now lost four games in a row.

Olympiques 3 Wildcats 2 (OT)
At Moncton, N.B., Adam Janosik had the power-play winner as Gatineau shaded the Wildcats in overtime.
Hugo Laporte and Philippe Halley staked the Olympiques (19-8-4) to a 2-0 lead midway through the game.
Devon MacAusland and Scott Trask ended the second period with goals 1:10 apart for Moncton (18-9-4).

Sea Dogs 6 Maineiacs 2
At Saint John, N.B., Jonathan Huberdeau and Michael Kirkpatrick both had a goal and an assist as the Sea Dogs rolled Lewiston.
Danick Gauthier, Tomas Jurco, Simon Despres and Mike Thomas rounded out the attack for Saint John (23-3-2).
Cole Hawes opened scoring for the Maineiacs (21-10-2), while Jess Tanguy scored late in the third period.

Tigres 5 Remparts 2
At Victoriaville, Que., Philip-Michael Devos' 19th of the season sparked the Tigres to five unanswered goals to rally past Quebec.
Devos also had two goals for Victoriaville (16-13-2), while Yanni Gourde, Brandon Hynes and Philippe Maillet chipped in as well. Yannick Dube added an empty-net goal with 44 seconds left to play.
Ryan Bourque and Frederick Roy's first period goals gave the Remparts (21-7-2) a brief 2-0 lead.

Juniors 4 Cataractes 1
At Verdun, Que., David Rose had a power-play marker and two assists to lead Montreal past Shawingian.
Charles Landry and Louis-Marc Aubry also scored with the man advantage for the Juniors (22-4-4), while Louis Leblanc also tallied.
Benjamin Casavant had the only goal for the Cataractes (16-10-3).

Screaming Eagles 5 Drakkar 4 (SO)
At Baie-Comeau, Que., Taylor MacDougall had the only goal in the shootout to power Cape Breton past the Drakkar.
MacDougall also forced overtime with a third-period goal and scored short handed in the first for the Screaming Eagles (10-18-3). William Carrier and Logan Shaw had markers of their own.
Lukas Cingel tallied and added an assist for Baie-Comeau (2-21-8), while Kevin Bisaillon, Jean-Philippe Caron and Samuel Noreau chipped in as well.

At Chicoutimi, Que., Guillaume Asselin had back-to-back goals, including the winner, to lift the Sagueneens over Rimouski.
Alexandre Lavoie, Steve Lebel and Eric Gelinas opened scoring in the third period for Chicoutimi (10-15-5).
Petr Straka, Jarrad Struthers and Liam O'Brien supplied the offence for the Oceanic (15-16-1).

At Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Jean-Philippe Mathieu had a pair of power-play goals as Drummondville flew past the Huskies.
Jonathan Brunelle also scored with the extra man for the Voltigeurs (19-8-4), while Mathieu Guertin had his sixth of the season to start the game.
Jonathan Bonneau was the lone scorer for Rouyn-Noranda (4-24-2).

At Val-d'Or, Que., Matthew Boudreau and Darcy Ashley scored in the shootout as Halifax edged the Foreurs.
Martin Frk, Alex Souligny and Alex Souligny had goals in regulation time for the Mooseheads (10-19-1).
Jonathan Hazen, Olivier Archambault and Adam Jones replied for Val-d'Or (15-13-3).
