MONCTON, N.B. -- Allain Saulnier scored twice and added an assist as the Moncton Wildcats edged the Lewiston Maineiacs 4-3 in the lone Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game Thursday.
Marek Hrivik and Alex MacDonald each added one for Moncton (18-9-3).
Samuel Henley, Pierre-Olivier Morin and Stefan Fournier scored for Lewiston (21-9-2).
Saulnier opened the scoring just 1:24 into the first period on an assist from his twin brother Alex.
MacDonald put Moncton up by two before Fournier scored to end the period with the Maineiacs trailing 2-1.
Moncton and Lewiston traded goals in the second before Saulnier scored the eventual game winner at 19:33.
Wildcats goaltender Shane Owen shut the door in a scoreless third period and finished the game with 40 saves.
He didn't get much help from his teammates. Moncton was outshot 17-3 in the final period.
At the other end, Nicholas Champion stopped 16 shots.
