Hockey Canada has added Brayden Schenn to its world junior team selection camp roster after the forward was returned to his junior team by the Los Angeles Kings on Friday.
The decision to add Schenn was announced hours after the Kings returned the 19-year-old Saskatoon native to the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings.
Schenn recorded a pair of assists in eight games for the Kings this season, but hasn't played since Oct. 30.
Schenn led the Wheat Kings to the Memorial Cup final last season. He also played for Canada at the world junior hockey championship, recording two goals and eight assists.
Team officials were hoping the Kings would send him back to junior so he could play in the upcoming event in Buffalo, N.Y.
