Kevin Sundher had two goals and two assists as the Chilliwack Bruins thrashed the Western Hockey League-leading Portland Winterhawks 7-2 Friday night.
Ryan Howse registered a goal and an assist, while the Bruins (12-9-3) scored seven unanswered goals in the second and third periods.
Brandon Manning, Jeff Einhorn, Steve Oursov and Brandon Magee also tallied for Chilliwack. Robin Soudek picked up a pair of assists, earning his first points since returning to the lineup following concussion issues.
Nino Niederreiter opened the scoring for the Winterhawks (21-5-1) at 13:35 of the first period and Sven Bartschi put Portland ahead 2-0 early in the second.
Bartschi leads all WHL rookies with 17 goals this season.
Special teams played a huge role in the contest, as the Bruins went 3-for-7 on the power play and also netted a short-handed goal. Portland failed to capitalize on eight man-advantages.
Both netminders were busy, as Lucas Gore turned aside 30 shots for Chilliwack, while his counterpart Mac Carruth also made 30 saves for Portland.

At Calgary, Adam Kambeitz scored the game-winning goal with 1.4 seconds left in regulation to lead Red Deer over the Hitmen.
Andrej Kudrna, Turner Elson and Mathew Dumba also scored for the Rebels (17-7-3), who have compiled a 6-1-1-2 record in their past 10 games.
Kris Foucault had a pair of goals for Calgary (6-18-1). Cody Sylvester also tallied.

At Edmonton, Josh Lazowski struck twice as the Oil Kings toppled Vancouver.
Griffin Reinhart and Jordan Hickmott both had a goal and an assist for Edmonton (10-14-1), while T.J. Foster and Travis Ewanyk added singles.
Brendan Gallagher had a pair of goals for the Giants (13-9-3), while Craig Cunningham and Jordan Martinook also tallied.

At Everett, Wash., Burke Gallimore scored twice to lead Seattle to victory over the Silvertips.
Mitch Elliot and Marcel Noebels also scored for the Thunderbirds (11-5-7), who controlled the game by scoring in the first two minutes of all three periods.
Ryan Murray scored the lone goal for Everett (11-10-4).

At Kamloops, B.C., Brendan Ranford and Austin Madaisky scored shootout goals to give the Blazers a thrilling victory over Spokane.
Jordan DePape scored twice for Kamloops (13-12-1) and Dylan Willick also tallied in regulation time. Willick forced overtime with his goal at 18:40 of the third period.
Spokane centre Tyler Johnson scored twice, including one with his club two men down. Defenceman Jared Dowen also scored for the Chiefs (12-9-3).

At Moose Jaw, Sask., Mackenzie Royer scored with 9.2 seconds left to give the Warriors a win over Brandon.
Brayden Cuthbert scored his first WHL goal for the Warriors (14-11-1) while fellow 16-year-old A.J. Johnson chipped in with three assists.
Cody Beach, Quinton Howden and Collin Bowman also scored for the Warriors.
Mark Stone scored twice for the Wheat Kings (11-16-2) who led 3-1 at one point. David Toews and Michael Ferland had the other Wheat Kings goals. It was Brandon's sixth-straight loss.

At Prince Albert, Sask., Brandon Herrod scored twice, including the eventual winner, as the Raiders knocked off Saskatoon.
Jonathan Parker had the other goal for Prince Albert (9-14-4).
Lukas Sutter had the only goal for the Blades (17-6-1).

At Prince George, B.C., Troy Bourke had a hat trick as the Cougars held off a late Regina rally to earn the win.
Captain Brett Connolly and Greg Fraser had the other goals for Prince George (13-10-2).
Myles Bell, Jordan Weal and Mikael Jung all scored in the third period as the Pats (7-15-5) came close to tying the game.

At Swift Current, Sask., Brad Hoban scored the winner with 5:05 left in regulation to lift the Broncos over visiting Lethbridge.
Jordan Peddle and Graeme Craig also tallied for Swift Current (14-14-0). Adam Lowry added an empty net goal in the final seconds.
Austin Fyten scored his ninth goal in as many games for the Hurricanes (11-10-4) with 6:22 left in the third period to tie the game at 2-2. Mitch Maxwell also scored.

At Kennewick, Wash., Brendan Shinnimin scored a pair of goals and Drew Owsley posted his second shutout of the season with 35 saves as Tri-City blanked Kootenay.
Justin Feser and Brooks Macek also scored for the Americans (14-9-2).
Nathan Lieuwen finished with 32 saves for the Ice (16-7-2), which now have been shut out in back-to-back games.
