Ryan Ellis was the star of the show without even scoring a goal on Friday night.
Zack Kassian scored twice and Ellis had three assists as the Windsor Spitfires defeated the Oshawa Generals 5-2 in Ontario Hockey League play.
Ellis, Windsor's team captain and the 2009 first-round draft pick of the Nashville Predators, was honoured in a pre-game ceremony for becoming the all-time leading scorer in Spitfire history.
The 19-year-old defenceman has 57 goals and 241 points in his fourth season in the OHL.
Included in the festivities was a video greeting from Joel Quenneville, a former Spitfire and current head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks, whose record Ellis surpassed.
Elsewhere in the OHL it was: Peterborough 4 Saginaw 3 (OT); Belleville 4 Guelph 1; Kingston 9 Brampton 3; Kitchener 1 Sarnia 0; Plymouth 4 London 2; Mississauga 7 Barrie 4; Ottawa 3 Niagara 2 (OT) and Sault Ste. Marie 3 Sudbury 1.
At Windsor, Ont., Derek Lanoue opened scoring for the Spitfires (14-9-1), while Zack MacQueen and Alexander Khokhlachev had markers of their own. Lanoue also added an assist.
Tony DeHart and Lucas Lessio supplied the offence for Oshawa (13-5-4).

At Saginaw, Mich., Alan Quinn scored a power-play goal 1:51 into overtime and had a pair of assists as Peterborough stunned the Spirit.
Austin Watson, Justin Larson and Slater Koekkoek scored as the Petes (5-16-2) broke a 10-game losing streak.
Brandon Saad scored all three goals for Saginaw (17-5-4), which suffered its second home loss this season.

At Guelph, Ont., Richard Panik scored on the power play and added two assists as Belleville dropped the Storm.
Captain Luke Judson also scored for the Bulls (8-16-2). Austen Brassard and Andy Bathgate added singles.
Matt Finn was the lone scorer for Guelph (10-10-3).

At Kingston, Ont., Ryan Spooner and Ethan Werek both scored twice as the Frontenacs defeated Brampton.
Sean Jones had a goal and three assists for Kingston (15-7-2), while Mitch Gaulton and Michael Fine both tallied and added an assist. Erik and Alex Gudbranson added singles.
Philip Lane and Ian Watters both had a goal and assist each for Brampton (8-11-4), while Stephon Thorne had a marker.

At Kitchener, Ont., Brandon Maxwell made 34 saves as the Rangers blanked Sarnia.
Ryan Murphy's goal was all Kitchener (17-5-1) would need to earn the win.
John Cullen stopped 36 shots for the Sting (11-11-3).

Whalers 4 Knights 2
At London, Ont., red-hot Plymouth racked up its fourth-straight victory and its eighth win in its last 10 games with a convincing match against the Knights.
Rickard Rackell scored twice for the Whalers (13-9-2), his eighth and ninth goals of the season, including the winner. Rookie Max Iafrate, son of former Toronto Maple Leaf Al Iafrate, and Jay Gillbert had the other Whalers' goals.
Chris DeSousa had a power-play goal for London (11-9-3), and Seth Griffith also scored.

At Mississauga, Ont., Justin Shugg scored a pair of goals to help power the St. Michael's Majors to victory over Barrie.
Jamie Wise, Devante Smith-Pelly, Joseph Cramarossa, Gregg Sutch and Casey Cizikas had the other goals for Mississauga (21-2-1).
Darren Archibald scored twice for the Colts (4-18-1), who lost their seventh game in a row. Colin Behenna and Mark Sheifele scored one apiece for Barrie.

At Ottawa, Shane Prince scored in overtime to lead the 67's past Niagara.
Tyler Graovec and Thomas Nesbitt had first-period goals for the 67's (17-9-0).
Andrew Agozzino and Mitchell Theoret responded for the IceDogs (14-7-4) in the second period.

Greyhounds 3 Wolves 1
At Sudbury, Ont., Brett Findlay scored and added an assist as Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds beat the Wolves.
Vern Cooper also scored for the Greyhounds (9-12-4) in his return from a concussion. Daniel Catenacci added a single for Sault Ste. Marie, increasing his goal streak to five games.
Josh McFadden had the lone goal for Sudbury (7-16-1).
