The last ever WEC show will feature two Canadians as the organization on Monday confirmed the remaining bouts for its Dec. 16 card.

London, Ont.'s Chris Horodecki will take on Donald Cerrone in a televised lightweight bout, while veteran Ivan Menvijar of Montreal will make his debut under the Zuffa banner against Brad Pickett on the udnercard of WEC 53 in Glendale, Ariz.

The historic event, which will take place at the Jobing.com Arena, will be the final one for the promotion before it merges with the UFC. Both are currently owned by Zuffa, LLC, with the WEC focusing on lighter weight classes, but it was announced last month that the UFC will be adding featherweight, bantamweight and flyweight divisions and absorbing the WEC's roster.

The show is headlined by a WEC lightweight title contest between belt-holder Ben Henderson and Anthony Pettis, with the winner moving on to face the victor of the Jan. 1 UFC lightweight championship bout between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard.

In a second title fight, Dominick Cruz defends his WEC bantamweight crown against Scott Jorgensen, with the winner immediately being rewarded the first ever UFC 135-pound champion.

"Each of these fights has added importance," Harris said. "All of these competitors want to prove that they are the best in the world and each wants to head to UFC in 2011 riding momentum."

The remaining bouts confirmed by the WEC Monday include: Kamal Shalorus vs. Bart Palaszewski, Danny Downes vs. Tiequan Zhang, Shane Roller vs. Jamie Varner, Ken Stone vs. Eddie Wineland, Will Kerr vs. Danny Castillo, Yuri Alcantara vs. Ricardo Lamas and Chris Cariaso vs. Renan Barao.

Horodecki, 23, is riding back-to-back wins over Downes and Ed Ratcliff and a victory over Cerrone would propel him into the lightweight elite.

The 28-year-old Menjivar has been fighting since 2001 and faced some of the best in the world, including Georges St-Pierre, Caol Uno, Joe Lauzon and Urijah Faber. Menjivar (21-7) is making a move down to 135 pounds for his WEC debut.

NOTES: According to reports, Valentijn Overeem has pulled out of his Strikeforce bout Saturday against Antonio Silva because of an elbow injury. Ikuhisa Minowa was rumoured to be taking his place for the main card fight at the show in St. Louis, which is headlined by a light-heavyweight fight between Dan Henderson vs. Renato Sobral.
