This is the 5th edition of the FINA World Trophy, the most spectacular competition in the synchronized swimming international calendar. The performances will be judged solely on artistic merit and the athletes will be allowed to use original costumes and accessories.
Canadian Team members for the 2010 FINA World Trophy are Geneviève Bélanger (Laval, QC), Camille Bowness (Beaconsfield, QC), Gabrielle Cardinal (Saint-Lambert, QC), Stéphanie Durocher (Repentigny, QC), Annabelle Frappier (Mont-Saint-Hilaire, QC), Sandy Gill (Coquitlam, B.C.), Emilia Kopcik (Surrey, B.C.), Rachel Kowalski (Kitchener, ON), Lisa Mikelberg (Hamstead, QC), Marie-Lou Morin (Westmount, QC), Marie Rondeau (Quebec City, QC), and Anne-Marie Vézina (L'Ancienne-Lorette, QC).
"This competition will be a great experience for some of our athletes who will take part in to their very first international FINA senior competition", said Meng Chen, the lead coach of the team who will be accompanied by coaches Anastassia Goutseva and Lyne Piché. "These athletes will have the opportunity to live this event with some other more experienced Canadian synchronized swimmers, including a few of the athletes who took part in the 2009 FINA World Aquatic Championships and the 2010 FINA World Cup."
