{allcanada} QMJHL: VACHON HAS GOAL, TWO ASSISTS AS VOLTIGEURS DOWN DRAKKAR

The struggling Baie-Comeau Drakkar suffered another loss Thursday, and this one was particularly ugly.

Marc-Olivier Vachon had a goal and two assists as the Drummondville Voltigeurs beat the Drakkar 4-0 in a Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game that featured a combined 76 minutes in penalties.

The game between one of the top teams in the QMJHL and the team with the worst record in the Canadian Hockey League featured 10 fighting majors, four misconducts and a game misconduct.

Drummondville's Sean Couturier earned the game misconduct when he instigated a fight with Baie-Comeau's Simon Darveau with just 1:13 left in regulation.

When he wasn't racking up penalty minutes, Couturier was adding to his impressive scoring totals. Couturier had a goal and an assist to increase his season total to 33 points (14 goals, 19 assists), good for second in the league.

Also Thursday, Victoriaville beat Val-d'Or 5-2.

At Drummondville, Que., the Voltigeurs improved to 14-6-2, tops in the West Division and just a point behind Quebec and Saint John for first overall in the QMJHL.

Baie-Comeau fell to a dismal 1-16-4.

Jonathan Brunelle and Andre Bouvet-Morrissette had the other goals for Drummondville, while Guillaume Nadeau made 17 saves for the shutout.

Jason Missiaen stopped 21 shots for the Drakkar.

Tigres 5 Foreurs 2

At Victoriaville, Que., Brandon Hynes and Phillip Danault each had two goals and an assist as the Tigres beat Val-d'Or.

Yanni Gourde also scored for Victoriaville (12-9-1).

Julien Leduc and Marc-Alain Begin replied for the Foreurs (10-8-2).
