The Vancouver Canucks are about to receive a big boost as forward Alex Burrows is expected to make his return to the Canucks' lineup on Tuesday.
The 29-year old Burrows, who is on long-term injured reserve, has yet to play this season after undergoing off-season shoulder surgery. Monday's game against the New Jersey Devils will mark the Canucks' 10th game of the season, meaning that Burrows will be eligible to return in time for Tuesday's contest against the Oilers in Edmonton.
The Pincourt, Quebec native should inject some energy into a lineup that has been scuffling along and currently sits in 11th in the Western Conference heading into action on Monday.
Burrows enjoyed an excellent season last year playing on Vancouver's top line alongside the Sedin brothers. He set career highs in goals with 35 and assists with 32 while posting a +34 plus/minus rating.
