The WHL's Vancouver Giants and Kamloops Blazers will clash in Whitehorse to headline a busy day of festivities during CBC's Hockey Day in Canada on Feb. 12.

It will mark the first time that a city in the Yukon will play host to a WHL regular season game.

"We are extremely pleased to have the WHL be a big part of our exciting lineup in Whitehorse for Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada in 2011," said Joel Darling, director of production for CBC Sports, in a release on Wednesday.

"With Whitehorse as our host city, fans will get a chance to see up close some of the best junior hockey in the world."

The game is slated to start at 4 p.m. PT at the Canada Games Complex in Whitehorse, and will be featured on CBC's national broadcast coverage of Hockey Day in Canada.

"This is a rare opportunity to bring the world's finest junior hockey players to the Yukon and help promote the game in northern Canada," said WHL commissioner Ron Robison.

Hockey Day will also feature an all-Canadian NHL tripleheader, as Ottawa visits Edmonton, Toronto clashes with Montreal and Vancouver hosts Calgary.
