TORONTO -- CFL rushing leader Cory Boyd of the Toronto Argonauts is the league's offensive player of the month.
Boyd rushed for 308 yards and three TDs on 58 carries in leading the Argos to wins in two of their three games in August. He also added eight catches for 78 yards and a touchdown.
Boyd currently leads the CFL in rushing (792 yards) and yards from scrimmage (894).
Hamilton Tiger-Cats receiver Arland Bruce III was also considered for the award.
Teammate Kevin Eiben is the top Canadian after registering 23 defensive tackles and two more on special teams. Eiben, of Delta, B.C., has a league-high 53 tackles and the 10-year veteran linebacker is second on the Argos' all-time list with 639 career tackles, trailing only special-teams coach Mike O'Shea (822).
Calgary Stampeders running back Jon Cornish was a finalist.
Montreal linebacker Chip Cox was a unanimous selection for top defensive player honours. He had 20 tackles, two interceptions, a sack and a fumble recovery he returned 14 yards for a TD over three games.
Yonus Davis of the B.C. Lions claimed the special-teams award. Davis amassed 497 kick-return yards over three games and also added 118 yards on punt returns and nine on missed field goals during that span.
Montreal kick-returner Tim Maypray and Calgary Stampeders linebacker Karl McCartney were also considered for the honour.
