Re: [SurroundSound] Re: KBFH Quad Radio SQ - Alice Cooper 1975

Found another version on Dime today, still doesn't seem to want to give up a good extraction, at least not yet.   It would be great if someone out there knows where the sources of these tweaked versions.  Even if they don't sound as good initially, the extraction would probably be a little better.   In any case, keep any info coming, as I am totally willing to keep trying whatever sources come to light.  - CP

If it hasn't been commercially released, Dime would be the place to look for verified lossless.

To any of the folks interested in this thread, just wanted to post an update.  I checked out the link posted , did a quick check on the files after I downloaded them, and while they might be quad, the extraction was less than great, and here's why (I think).
  1) Even though the downloads were flac files, the extractions sounded like the sources might have been lossy.  Can't really say why, except that was my hunch.
   2) the files seem to have been tweaked a bit, and a lot of time this will mess up the quad info that allows the stereo file to be decoded.

So,  even though I will take another look at this,  it would be great if there were a cleaner, un-tweaked version of this broadcast.   If any one has something resembling this, please feel free to post a link.   There is another version of this show on the web, but it appears to be a further tweaked version of the same source.
Out of curiosity I went to Wolfgangs site to compare the files with the version of the same show they have posted in the concert vault, and the mix they have seems noticeably drier, and doesn't seem to have any quad info on it.  It appears that the show may have been mixed more than once, and it has definitely been broadcast multiple times.

If anyone can point me in the right direction of other versions of this broadcast, feel free to forward the info.  Even if it is a rip of a vinyl bootleg, might be worth checking out.

   thanks,   CP

I believe this is the show. Can't comment on whether the SQ encoding is intact: http://soundaboard.blogspot.com/2007/10/alice-cooper-los-angeles-1975.html On Aug 29, 1:51 am, ceplas...@aol.com wrote: > Syd,   >   if you could send some more specifics about the show, date and all that,   maybe I could find a version on the web and play around with it.  I feel like I might have taken a listen to an old Alice show that was supposedley quad from a while back and the stereo mix seemed a little dicey.    Anyway,  if you can send me some specific info regarding the show maybe I could get around to it in the next month or so.   Kids are getting back to school and I'm looking for projects to work on to help me get my computer skills up to scratch.    - CP-----Original Message----- > From: Syd13 <erikd...@gmail.com> > To: SurroundSound <surroundsound@googlegroups.com> > Sent: Sat, Aug 28, 2010 10:24 am > Subject: [SurroundSound] KBFH Quad Radio SQ - Alice Cooper 1975 > > If anyone has the Alice Cooper KBFH radio show in SQ quad, could they > please post it on the Hub? > > I'd really like to hear that great show in quad.
