The Edmonton Oilers have signed newly-acquired defenceman Colin Fraser to a two-year contract worth $825,000 per season.
Edmonton acquired the restricted free agent from the Chicago Blackhawks on June 24 in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick, and then made a qualifying offer to him this week.
Fraser recorded seven goals and 12 assists in 70 regular season games with the Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks last season.
The 25-year old resident of Surrey, B.C. is entering his fifth NHL season.
