The BC Lions announced that a pair of games will be played at the Save-on-Foods Field at the Apple Bowl this season as part of Touchdown Kelowna.
The two-game set will welcome the Calgary Stampeders as opponents in Week 4 on Saturday, June 27, followed by the Edmonton Elks as visitors the following Saturday on July 4.
The series is necessitated by the use of BC Place for seven games of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In 2024, the Lions played one game in Victoria, BC as part of Touchdown Pacific.
"Playing in Kelowna and the Okanagan is an incredible opportunity to showcase the CFL experience and strengthen our connection with these communities," CFL commissioner Stewart Johnston said in a release. "These will be must-see events in one of the most stunning regions in the country. The Lions continue to show that they are truly BC's team through their tremendous efforts to engage fans across the province."
The Lions rolled to a resounding 38-12 victory at Royal Athletic Park in Victoria in the Touchdown Pacific game played in 2024. Lions quarterback and reigning CFL Most Outstanding Player and Most Outstanding Canadian Nathan Rourke is excited for the chance to welcome Lions football to another community in British Columbia.
"As a proud British Columbia-born citizen, I can't wait to lead the Lions into another historic CFL venture in our province," Rourke said. "Embarking on Kelowna to begin our home schedule will be a great opportunity for our team to gel. It will also be exciting to get out into the community and engage with our great fans in the entire region."
The full schedule for the 2026 season is set to be released on Dec. 9.
