The Vancouver Canucks can breathe a tentative sigh of relief.
After exiting Tuesday's game against the New York Rangers early, the injury to Conor Garland is not believed to be serious, per CHEK News' Rick Dhaliwal.
Despite this, Dhaliwal further reports that Garland will not be travelling with the team on their upcoming three-game road trip.
In what appears to be a related move, forward Mackenzie MacEachern was recalled and forward Nils Aman was reassigned to AHL Abbotsford.
Garland exited against the Rangers after the second period, though it was not immediately clear when he was hurt. He was on the receiving end of a big hit from Rangers forward Sam Carrick in the first period.
After the game, head coach Adam Foote told reporters that Garland was still undergoing evaluation.
The Canucks are already dealing with a host of injuries, with captain Quinn Hughes sidelined in addition to Filip Chytil, Jonathan Lekkerimaki, Teddy Blueger, Victor Mancini, Derek Forbort and Nils Hoglander.
