Sam Morton has a new contract just in time for the second weekend of the Calgary Stampede.
The Calgary Flames re-signed the forward to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000, the team announced Wednesday.
Morton, 25, made his NHL debut in the Flames' last game of the regular season in 2024-25 and potted his first-career goal in a 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings.
He also recorded 20 goals and 25 assists over 70 games with the AHL's Calgary Wranglers last season.
The Flames originally signed the Lafayette, Colo., native as a college free agent in March 2024 after his four-year career at Minnesota State and Union College.
