After being dealt to the Calgary Flames in the Matthew Tkachuk trade, Cole Schwindt is sticking around out west.

The Flames announced Wednesday that they have agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with the 23-year-old centre. The deal carries an average annual value of $800,000.

Schwindt made his Flames debut in 2023-24, skating in four games. He didn't record a point and finished with a minus-1 rating.

Originally drafted in the third round of the 2019 draft by the Florida Panthers, Schwindt spent the majority of last season with the AHL's Calgary Wranglers. In 66 games, he scored 14 goals and 36 points.

In the AHL post-season, Schwindt added four goals in six games.

The right-shot forward made his NHL debut with the Panthers in the 2021-22 campaign, appearing in three games with the team.

Over 218 career AHL games, Schwindt has scored 48 goals and registered 110 points.
