The Ottawa Redblacks have fired head coach Paul LaPolice amidst a 3-11 record this season.
The Redblacks are last in the CFL and have lost three games in a row. They are coming off a 34-19 loss Friday night to the BC Lions.
TSN's Claire Hanna reports that special teams coordinator Bob Dyce will take over as interim head coach and the team will likely announce their next offensive coordinator on Monday.
"I have enjoyed working with Paul and thank him for his contributions to this team over the past two seasons; today isn't an easy day," said Redblacks general manager Shawn Burke. "In this business, sometimes a change is required to help move a team forward and that's what we've done here. We're fortunate to have a coach of Bob Dyce's caliber and experience able to step up and take on this role."
LaPolice was hired as the second head coach in team history in December 2019 but didn't take the field until 2021 after the 2020 season cancelled. Under LaPolice, the Redblacks went a combined 6-26.
