Richie Laryea is coming back home.
Toronto FC manager Bob Bradley confirmed on Thursday that Toronto FC is finalizing a loan deal for the Canada fullback with Nottingham Forest.
Bradley says Laryea is set to arrive in Toronto later on Thursday and there is a chance he could be available for selection on Saturday when the Reds host Nashville SC.
Laryea, 27, joined the Premier League newcomers last January from TFC, but the Toronto native found playing time hard to come by, making only five appearances across all competitions as the team pushed for promotion.
With the World Cup set for November, Laryea needs game time to maintain his place in John Herdman's first-choice XI.
A product of Akron, Laryea joined TFC in 2019 after two years at Orlando City. He made 83 appearances across all competitions for the Reds over three seasons.
Internationally, Laryea has been capped 30 times by the CanMNT and was a key component in Canada's World Cup qualifying campaign.
Forest begins its return campaign in the top flight after a 23-year absence on Saturday, away to Newcastle.
