Swedish centre Nils Åman signed an entry-level deal with the Vancouver Canucks, club GM Patrik Allvin announced Tuesday.
"Nils is a smart hockey player who plays with speed and has a strong work ethic," said Allvin in a statement. "He possesses a good two-way game, and we look forward to seeing his continued development on both sides of the ice with the Canucks organization."
The 22-year-old native of Avesta, Sweden, nine goals and 18 assists in 110 career games with Leksands IF of the Swedish Hockey League. He represented Sweden at the 2022 World Hockey Championship.
Åman was originally drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the sixth round, 167th overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He became a free agent when he did not reach a deal with Colorado before his rights expired.
