Josh Morrissey will return to play the Philadelphia Flyers (7 p.m. ET; NBCSP, TSN3, ESPN+, NHL LIVE) after the defenseman missed three games in NHL COVID-19 protocol.
Morrissey has scored 16 points (five goals, 11 assists) in 38 games and leads Winnipeg with an average ice time of 22:39 per game.
"Getting [Morrissey] back in the lineup is big for us," forward Andrew Copp said. "He's going to soak some minutes and he's a leader on the team. I don't really need to say too much about his game, I think it speaks for itself, so looking forward to getting him back in there for sure."
The Jets were 0-2-1 without Morrissey and had to give bigger workloads to younger, less experienced defensemen Dylan Samberg, 23; Ville Heinola, 20; Declan Chisholm, 22; and Johnathan Kovacevic, 24.
Kovacevic and Heinola are expected to play against the Flyers.
"I think for the defense as a whole, we're still going to have some young guys in there," Jets defensemen Brenden Dillon said. "But it's just another guy on the bench or in the locker room you can bounce things off of. I think there's something to be said about a veteran presence just kind of calming things down if things do go a little crazy in the game or on a certain shift. We're a better team with Josh in the lineup, for sure."
Flyers forward Morgan Frost (illness) is a game-time decision. He missed the morning skate after not practicing Monday out of precaution.
