Dmitry Orlov will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Wednesday.

The Washington Capitals defenseman is facing discipline for kneeing Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers.

The incident occurred at 13:23 of the third period of Capitals' 4-3 overtime win at Capital One Arena.

No penalty was called. Ehlers did not return and will not play against the Nashville Predators on Thursday, Jets coach Dave Lowry said.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: kneeing. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
