The Edmonton Oilers have added forward Zach Hyman to the NHL's COVID-19 protocol. Hyman joins goaltender Stuart Skinner who was added back on Jan. 17. Kyle Turris was also removed from COVID-19 protocol.
In 32 games this season, Hyman has 11 goals and 21 points in his first season with the Oilers. Brendan Perlini will take Hyman's spot on the top line with Connor McDavid and Kailer Yamamoto.
Edmonton also activated defenceman Kris Russell from injured reserve. Russell has been out since Dec. 10 after appearing to suffer an upper-body injury after he was checked into the boards by Boston Bruins forward Erik Haula.
