The Ottawa Senators have removed defenceman Nikita Zaitsev from the NHL's COVID-19 protocol. They have also recalled forward Andrew Agozzino along with defencemen Jacob Bernard-Docker and Max Guenette from the AHL's Belleville Senators.
Ottawa has been hit hard by injuries and COVID-19 especially on their blue line.
Forwards Connor Brown, Dylan Gambrell, Alex Formenton, Austin Watson and defencemen Victor Mete, Nick Holden and Josh Brown are currently in COVID protocol. Forwards Shane Pinto, Clark Bishop, and defencemen Artem Zub and Erik Brannstrom are sidelined with injuries.
The Senators have back-to-back games at home this weekend as they take on Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday then host the Calgary Flames Sunday. In order to curb the outbreak of COVID-19, the Senators cancelled practice on Friday.
