Canada's Bianca Andreescu has advanced to the third round at the 2021 US Open with a straight-set 6-4, 6-4 win over American Lauren Davis.
Andreescu will next face Greet Minnen of Belgium in her quest to win her second major title in New York.
Earlier Thursday, Canadian Vasek Pospisil lost his second-round match 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (5) to Ilya Ivashka of Belarus. Denis Shapovalov of Richmond Hill, Ont., will face Roberto Carballes Baena of Spain later in the night.
