{allcanada} Canucks sign defenceman Luke Schenn to two-year deal

The Vancouver Canucks added more depth to their blue line on Wednesday. According to Frank Seravalli, the club has signed Luke Schenn to a two-year, $1.7-million deal in free agency.

His new pact counts for $850,000 against the cap in each of the next two seasons.

Schenn, 31, is coming off back-to-back championships with the Tampa Bay Lighting, appearing in a combined 19 playoff games over the course of the club's two Cup runs and contributing a goal and two assists.

This will be Schenn's second stint in Vancouver -- prior to signing with Tampa Bay ahead of the 2019-20 campaign, he suited up for 18 games with the Canucks during the 2018-19 campaign.

Earlier Wednesday, the Canucks re-signed fellow veteran d-man Travis Hamonic to a two-year, $6-million deal. Last week saw them acquire Oliver Ekman-Larsson from Arizona via trade, and Tuesday brought the departure of Nate Schmidt, who's now Winnipeg-bound.
