If Auston Matthews has it his way, he'll be back in the lineup against the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday.
The Toronto Maple Leafs' star centre told reporters Tuesday that his wrist injury is progressing and he is hopeful to play in the finale of the team's three-game set against the Oilers.
Matthews sat out his second consecutive game Monday, a 3-0 shutout for the Maple Leafs.
The 23-year-old has 18 goals and 31 points in 20 games this season.
