Auston Matthews, Joe Thornton and Jake Muzzin each will be a game-time decision against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday (7 p.m. ET; NHLN, CBC, SN, CITY, TVAS, NHLN), coach Sheldon Keefe said Friday.
Matthews did not practice Friday after the center aggravated an injury to his right wrist during a 2-1 overtime win against the Calgary Flames on Wednesday.
Thornton, a center, and Muzzin, a defenseman, practiced Friday after each missed the past two games, Thornton because of an undisclosed injury and Muzzin because of an upper-body injury. Muzzin wore a face shield after being hit by a puck during a 5-3 win at the Montreal Canadiens on Feb. 20.
Keefe said goalie Jack Campbell is nearing a return from a leg injury sustained during a 3-2 win against the Flames on Jan. 24, and could start Saturday, depending on how he feels earlier in the day.
