Josh Archibald signed a two-year contract with the Edmonton Oilers on Friday. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The 27-year-old forward has 20 points (12 goals, eight assists) in 59 games with Edmonton this season and leads the team in hits (160) among forwards. He could have become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
Signed as a free agent by Edmonton on July 16, 2019, he has 56 points (32 goals, 24 assists) in 180 regular-season games with the Oilers, Arizona Coyotes and Pittsburgh Penguins.
Archibald has no points in four Stanley Cup Playoff games, all with the Penguins when they won the Cup in 2017.
