{allcanada} Bobby Ryan returns to Senators practice after time in assistance program

Bobby Ryan was back at Ottawa Senators practice Wednesday after being away from the team for over two months.

Ryan last played for the team on Nov. 16, and four days later the NHL and NHLPA released a joint statement saying he entered its assistance program.

"We're looking forward to seeing him compete with us on a daily basis and work his way back into the lineup," Senators goalie Craig Anderson said after practice.

The 32-year-old has one goal and three assists in 16 games this season. He's Ottawa's highest-paid player and is due to make $7.25 million this season.

It wasn't immediately clear when he would return to the Senators' lineup.
