{allcanada} Andersen to miss at least next two games for Maple Leafs

Frederik Andersen was not in the lineup for the Toronto Maple Leafs against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday (7 p.m. ET; SNO, PRIME, NHL.TV) and will not make the trip for their game against the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre on Saturday because of a neck injury.

"It's a disruption, but we're in a place where we think a disruption is healthy," Toronto coach Sheldon Keefe told TSN on Friday. "That's what we talked about this morning. We're moving on from what we've been through here the last couple games, giving up points. It's a chance for new blood, new energy in the room and a new opportunity for us to have a good weekend."

Jack Campbell, who was acquired in a trade with forward Kyle Clifford from the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday, started for the Maple Leafs on Friday.

"Honestly, our job is pretty simple: just stopping in the puck," Campbell said. "I was thinking about that during the meeting [this morning] when they were going over the X's and O's. I just have to stop the puck. I talked to [former Kings teammate Jake Muzzin] a little bit about their system playing the puck behind the net and got that figured out. Just time to have some fun and get it done."

Keefe said Campbell, who hadn't played since Jan. 30, could also start against the Canadiens. Michael Hutchinson, who allowed four goals on 34 shots against the Rangers, is 4-9-1 with a 3.66 goals-against average and .886 save percentage this season.

"He's the hardest-working guy I've ever seen in hockey," Muzzin told TSN of Campbell. "I've trained with him in the summer the last two years down in L.A., and just his preparation, coming to the rink and throughout the summers and throughout practice, battling on every puck, extra work, early on the ice, all that kind of stuff."

Andersen was injured during the first period of a 5-3 loss to the Florida Panthers at Scotiabank Arena on Monday. He did not accompany the Maple Leafs for a 5-3 loss at the New York Rangers on Wednesday. He skated Friday morning but was not available against Anaheim.

Andersen, who played in the NHL All-Star Game for the first time this season, is 24-9-6 with a 2.87 GAA and .910 save percentage. The Maple Leafs (28-19-7), who were 4-10-1 without Andersen in goal, were one point behind the Florida Panthers for third place in the Atlantic Division and two behind the Carolina Hurricanes for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference.
