{allcanada} Maple Leafs recall Jake Muzzin, Trevor Moore from conditioning loans

The Toronto Maple Leafs recalled defenceman Jake Muzzin and forward Trevor Moore from conditioning loans in the American Hockey League on Saturday.

Muzzin, who has been sidelined with a foot injury, and Moore, who has dealt with a shoulder injury, were with the AHL's Toronto Marlies on rehab stints.

Moore skated with the Marlies on Jan. 18 and Friday, registering a goal and an assist in those two games. Muzzin was held without a point in Friday's game, his lone outing with the Marlies.

Both players skated on opening night for the Maple Leafs and will be welcomed back to the lineup, but Muzzin's reinstatement might be particularly meaningful. He is second among Toronto skaters in average ice time this season (21:21 per game) behind only defenceman Morgan Rielly — who is out with a foot injury for at least a few more weeks.

Muzzin, who hasn't played with the Maple Leafs since Dec. 27, and Moore, who hasn't played with the Maple Leafs since Dec. 21, will be eligible to return for Monday's game in Nashville.
