The Vancouver Canucks' revamping of their blue line is set to continue with the addition of Jordie Benn on a two-year deal. The new contract will carry an average annual value of $2 million.
Heading into his ninth year in the big leagues, Benn is coming off a three-year stint with the Montreal Canadiens, during which he posted 39 points through 171 games, averaging 18:26 minutes per game.
Prior to his stint in Montreal, Benn spent six years in Dallas with his brother Jamie, amassing 71 points through 301 games. The 31-year-old earned $1.1 million per season on the three-year deal he just finished up.
