Help for Toronto FC's back line could be coming in the form of Omar Gonzalez.
The Athletic's Paul Tenorio and Pablo Maurer report the club is currently negotiating with the United States international defender.
The 30-year-old Dallas native spent seven seasons in Major League Soccer with LA Galaxy from 2009 to 2015, winning three MLS Cups.
Gonzalez is currently with Liga MX side Atlas, joining the club this season after three years at Pachuca.
The deal is not yet finalized, but would not require any trades to complete with TFC currently atop the MLS allocation list.
Internationally, Gonzalez has been capped 49 times by the USMNT and was a member of their 2014 World Cup squad in Brazil.
The Reds have conceded 13 goals through seven games this season.
