{allcanada} Les Canadiennes star Marie-Philip Poulin injured ahead of Clarkson Cup

MONTREAL — The CWHL's leading scorer is questionable to play in Sunday's Clarkson Cup.

Les Canadiennes de Montreal forward Marie-Philip Poulin is said to be day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

"We cannot confirm whether she will play in the final at this time," a team spokesperson told The Canadian Press in an email Tuesday.

Les Canadiennes and the Calgary Inferno clash Sunday at Toronto's Coca-Cola Coliseum for this year's CWHL championship.

Poulin, who led the league with 23 goals and 27 assists in 26 games this season, was injured in Montreal's regular-season finale Feb. 24.

She did not play in the three-game semifinal series against the Markham Thunder earlier this month.

Poulin scored twice for Les Canadiennes in the 2017 Clarkson Cup en route to a 3-1 win over the Inferno for the title.

The 27-year-old from Beauceville, Que., has been captain of the Canadian women's team since 2015.

She is on Canada's roster for the women's world championship April 4-14 in Espoo, Finland.
